STUDENT HOLIDAY FRIDAY – APRIL 18TH

Friday, April 18th will be a student holiday. We wish all our students and their families a great 3-day weekend!

SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLANNING MEETING

On Friday, April 25, 2014 at 12:00 p.m., the school administration is having a meeting with our parents to discuss improvement plans for our school for 2014-15. Your suggestions and recommenda-tions are very important to us so we can work together as a team to make positive changes to our school.

Please confirm via phone or email if you will be in attendance so we can get a headcount for seating and refreshments. If you are not able to make it for any reason, kindly send us your suggestions/ recommendations.

BAKE SALE

The 7th graders are having a bake sale on Thurs., April 17th. A variety of food and dessert items will be sold for $1 each.

'AquaMan', WaterWise Teach Water Conservation

waterwiseWaterWise is a free water conservation program which teaches our 4th and 5th grade students how valuable water and our natural resources truly are! WaterWise is carefully written by teachers to help reinforce TEKS. The Program is designed to teach the value of water and energy and help save money on your utility bills.

‘THE AQUA MAN’ visited our school and gave a presentation on water conservation. Students received a FREE WaterWise kit, a FREE WaterWise hand band and certificate at the end of the program. A pledge form was sent home after the presentation. The Parents are requested to sign the form and return to receive the certificate.

 

Kaplan, DUA North to Offer PSAT and SAT Practice Tests

kaplanTake a PSAT Practice Test at Darul Arqam North. See how you might score on the real thing! The PSAT and SAT will be presented by Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions. Testing will take place on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM in the Gymnasium on the campus of Darul Arqam North.. Students will need to bring a calculator to the exam, the rest will be provided. Participating students will take a full-length PSAT or SAT exam, and receive a score reporting outlining their strengths and weaknesses on every question type on the exam. To sign up, please see Sis.. 8TH GRADE FUNDRAISER

The 8th grade class will be selling ice cream every Monday after school. $1 per item.

2014-15 REGISTRATION

RegistrationIt is imperative that parents contact the office and confirm if your child will be attending Darul Arqam in the 2014-15 academic year. We are booking up fast and we want to make sure all our current students have first preference on seats.

M.I.S.T

The MIST competition will be Friday through Sunday, April 18th-20th. Our high school students have worked very hard for this event and we ask that you all make dua that we are successful!

Parents are STRONGLY CAUTIONED NOT TO PARK IN FRONT OF THE DROP OFF / DISMISSAL AREA. This area is a heavy traffic area for cars and children. So, for the safety of our students, please do not park in these spaces. Thank you for your cooperation.
